Homeless in NYC

I've been to New York plenty of times, but this was my first time seeing a portion of their homeless population.  I was quite fascinated with the gathering of folks at this church.  I was walking back to my hotel after an evening at the theatre and dinner, so the time was close to midnight.  The photo of the man just above stole my heart.  His head was bobbing, but he never lost his position.  People should not be homeless in this country.

Identical shots--1st through the windshield--see the glare and raindrops?

Last three photos were shot with the Blackberry Curve; she saved the day when my camera batteries died

These photos were taken with a Blackberry Curve. The clarity is unexpected, yet amazing. I love these shots!

The Oakland Tribune

Having lived in downtown Oakland (14th/Madison to be exact), I walked by this building many times on my way to Bart, restaurants, and shopping ... and there was always something about the building that I loved. Maybe it's my dream of one day writing for a publication, or maybe it's because the clock brightens the night. Whatever the reason, I finally had my camera with me after leaving one of my favorite restaurants -- Golden Lotus -- and took this shot. I hope to one day catch it at night, too ...

Spring in May

It's been quite some time since I've picked up my camera to document my world. This morning, determined to fulfill my passion, I purchased new batteries and took a walk on the wild side. No, not really ... but I did take a nice, brisk walk through Elk Grove Regional Park with my boy Prince.

This little guy scurried up the tree to hide from Prince and me ...

How can anyone resist a mama duck and her ducklings ...

Happy Mother's Day!
